MODSIM World 2008 is the premier international conference and exposition for researchers and practitioners in modeling and simulation and related areas, and for the diffusion of knowledge in modeling, simulation, visualization, and game-based learning. MODSIM World 2008 will be held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center in Virginia Beach, VA, September 15-18, 2008.

MODSIM World 2008 is organized into five tracks – Defense/Homeland Security, Education & Training, Engineering & Technology, Health & Medicine, and Transportation & Logistics.  There will also be a gaming technology series of sessions that cross-cut through these tracks. The MODSIM World 2008 Conference and Expo Program Committee’s Call for Papers and Proposals incorporates both the traditional call for papers and a call for presentations that includes a variety of other communication forums.  The Committee invites proposals for all tracks including the gaming technology sessions, in the following categories:  full (peer-reviewed) papers, panels, invited speakers, round tables, workshops, symposia, and tutorials.

Proposals must embrace the conference goals and can cover the full spectrum from theory and practice, research and experimentation, development and application, to test and evaluation.  Preference will be given to proposals that advance “the state-of-the-art” and understanding of modeling and simulation and its application across a variety of disciplines and communities of practice, and that support the development of “best practices,” enhance leadership and management, and improve decision making.  Presenters will be provided with a projector, podium,  and microphone.  Requirements for other audiovisual equipment must be included in your proposal.

All proposals, regardless of the category, must comply with the Call of Proposal requirements.  Please read it carefully prior to submitting your proposal as requirements have changed since the 2007 conference.  To be considered, all proposals must be received no later than midnight Pacific Time, Friday, May 2, 2008.  If your institution requires approval of your work, all approvals must be received BEFORE you submit a proposal to MODSIM World 2008.  All conference attendees, including presenters, are required to pay the registration fee.  If a proposal is accepted, at least one author (preferable the first author) must attend the conference and present the work.  Non-compliance will lead the MODSIM World 2008 Conference and Expo Program Committee to reject your proposal.  To be considered, all proposals must –
